Migraine is an extremely common disorder that is more common in women by a factor of 2 to 1. Migraines associated dizziness is an under recognized disorder that is actually quite common. Many patients with migraine headaches have dizziness with some or all of their headaches. Some patients, however, with known migraine headaches will have dizziness without an associated headache. Many patients will experience a sense of imbalance and dizziness with exquisite sensitivity to light and sometimes sound and some will experience a true vertigo or spinning sensation. Studies have shown that management of the migraine in addition to vestibular rehabilitation can provide relief to many patients who suffer from migraines associated vertigo.
